Your donation will cover the cost of a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Diagnostic Assessment at the FARR Office in Bellville, Cape Town. This service is available for both adults and children. The cost includes:
- Medical examination by a medical specialist, whereby dysmorphic features associated with FASD are identified;
- Cognitive assessment administered by a Psychometrist, to establish an individual’s global cognitive functioning;
- Gathering of extensive collateral information regarding prenatal history, birth, childhood and beyond from the parent(s)/guardian(s) in order to obtain a holistic view of the individual;
- Comprehensive report with practical recommendations;
- Feedback to the parent/guardian;
- Support, upon request.
